Working principle
The oil pump drives the plunger to reciprocate up and down inside the pump barrel through the oil rod, and uses the periodic opening and closing of the floating valve and fixed valve to lift the crude oil:
Upstroke: The sucker rod drives the plunger upward, reducing the pressure inside the pump barrel, opening the fixed valve, and allowing crude oil to enter the pump barrel; At the same time, the floating valve is closed to prevent liquid backflow in the pump.
Downstroke: The plunger descends, the pressure inside the pump barrel increases, the fixed valve closes, and the floating valve opens. The crude oil enters the oil pipe through the floating valve and is ultimately lifted to the ground.Structure type
Tube pump
Features: After the pump barrel is connected to the oil pipe, it is lowered into the well, and the piston is lowered into the pump barrel through the pumping rod.
Advantages: Simple structure, low cost, large displacement (larger pump diameter allowed for the same oil pipe diameter).
Disadvantages: When checking the pump, it is necessary to lift the oil pipe, which requires a large amount of work for well repair. It is suitable for wells with low pump depth and high production.
Structure: including outer cylinder, liner, suction valve, discharge valve, and piston. The piston surface is smooth and has a circular groove to reduce sand wear.
Rod pump
Features: The pump barrel is fixed on the oil pipe, and the piston is connected and lowered into the pump barrel through the pumping rod.
Advantages: Convenient pump inspection, no need to lift the oil pipe, suitable for wells with deep pumping and low production.
Disadvantages: Complex structure, high manufacturing cost, and smaller pump diameter allowed for the same oil pipe diameter.
Structure: It includes a fixed tube bottom fixed rod pump and a moving tube bottom fixed rod pump, the latter of which moves the pump tube up and down through the pumping rod.
Special oil pump
Sand control pumps: such as twin tube sand control pump and long plunger sand control pump, which prevent sand particles from getting stuck in the pump by optimizing the structure.
Heavy duty oil pumps, such as feedback pumps and CCYB type open straight in heavy duty oil pumps, adapt to high viscosity crude oil by increasing feedback force or optimizing flow channel design.
Anti gas pump: such as a bridge anti gas pumping pump, designed with special valves to prevent gas from affecting pump efficiency.
